  • BUILD A BETTER RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE WORKSHOP
Artist/Educator Jay Mankita guides and inspires kids to construct delightfully complicated contraptions that accomplish simple tasks. Jay supplies dominos, popsicle sticks, magnets, rubber bands, string, balls, marbles, etc…, set up includes Jay’s basic table and floor-based templates as well as some pre-constructed machines for kids to study and play with, with plenty of opportunities for making, and learning from, their own mistakes. Goofy fun, and real engineering, with a bit of Rube Goldberg history thrown into the mix.

Hey Librarians! We are now booking for the Summer of 2017! These programs are a perfect fit for Build A Better World, but Jay is always available for any theme, or no theme at all – summer, vacation weeks, or any time throughout the year!

Call or write now, to reserve a date for one of Jay’s dynamic concerts, a hands-on engineering workshop, or one of each!

Here’s a mashup of a recent “Build A Better Rube Goldberg Machine” workshop…every table has a bin of “stuff” to work with. Kids learn about basic forces and motion physics by working on easy, experiential and sometimes hilarious simple tasks!
